Start your racing weekend early...
NEW SEGMENT ADDED TO NORTHSOUND RACING
Northsound Racing begins its 10th season of broadcasting on March 12th, and with that comes an exciting weekly feature added to the show. It’s called Pimp My Sponsors presented by PMS Power allowing 3 participants the opportunity to come on the program to talk about the businesses that help provide the funding and services to allow them to race at their local track.
This is something that we’ve done at our annual live broadcasts out at the Evergreen State Fair in Monroe host Steve Mortland said recently. The idea is to provide time and a format for teams to have to come on the show to thank their sponsors. So many times we hear that from race winners on victory circle interviews, which is fine and expected, but I thought that it’s fun to open the show up to whomever wanted to come on and talk about the people that help them, race winner or not.
All a team needs to do is contact Northsound Racing through its Facebook page or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will take 3 people per show, and ask that they be prepared and ready to go when we call. Send your sponsor information, what track and class that you race in, and a phone number. Remember that land line numbers insure the best sound quality, The segments will last 3-5 minutes per person, so we can get these done in a 15 minute time frame. This will be on a first come first served basis, so if we can't get to you the week you contact us, we’ll get you on at the next available opportunity.
This is a great opportunity for introducing a new sponsor to the community. By all means include this in your sponsorship proposal. Mortland mentioned. "We have always tossed out the invitation to use Northsound Racing as part of your marketing process. Since day one we have realized the importance of sponsor recognition, and this is another way to help keep racers and teams on the track. This goes for race tracks as well. If they need to introduce a new marketing partner to our audience, give us a call. We all need to work together in order to keep the sport growing and being able to prosper.
Northsound Racing enters its 10th season of covering motorsports in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and British Columbia. Based out of the FOXSPORTS 1380-KRKO Radio studios in Everett Washington, Steve Mortland and Tom Glithero look forward to presenting interviews, race results, previews and news pertaining to the ever growing local racing scene. The show can be heard Thursdays from 7:00 to 9:00 PM live on FOXSPORTS 1380-KRKO Radio, or online at www.northsoundracing.com and the KRKO link on Tuned In Radio.

Northsound Racing from Evergreen Speedway
Just wanted to take a few minutes and recognize the efforts of those who helped pull off what I think was an excellent radio broadcast of the Evergreen Speedway Summer Showdown this past weekend.
Firstly, to Tom Glithero. I continue to be amazed by your involvement and continued improvement as a radio broadcaster as cohost of Northsound Racing. It's so rewarding to witness the way you dedicate yourself week in and week out to make this show better. I appreciate the agony that you went through when you were being pulled in so many directions by so many people who recognize your talents. I'm thankful that you made the decision that you did.
To Ron Bennett and Jeremy Anders. Bringing you two on as pit reporters for this event was a slam dunk of a decision. The job and effort with which you two performed made me proud. Especially during the half time break in the 200. When you guys started going back and forth with interviews of drivers that were making a difference, asking intelligent questions, and getting into a groove, Tom and I just looked at each other and all we could say is "WOW"! The genuine joy that you both projected for all 3 shows that we did really showed, and I would never hesitate to have you both on the NSR team when we do something like this in the future.
Brandon Hamilton for his efforts in making this happen. To Kevin Ramsell from www.speed51.com for his incredible coverage of the Showdown and help with using his site for live scoring. I suggest you all check out his site, and we look forward to having him as a guest on the show in the very near future.
Most importantly, thank you to the staff of High Road Promotions. I'm sure that Doug and Traci Hobbs are getting tired of hearing what a great effort that they and their staff did leading up to and during the event weekend. Doug told me that they can plan for everything but the race itself, and anyone who attended the event, raced in it, crewed for it, drove a push truck, sat in an ambulance, manned a track sweeper, took a ticket, cleaned the grandstand, served food or beverages, spoke into a microphone, waved a flag, drove a pace car, snapped a photograph, sold you a souvenir, answered a phone call, told a driver that he was being held for a lap, informed a team that they were 5% to heavy on the left side, provided articles for the Everett Herald, played a tuba in the marching band, delivered a benediction, flew a historic plane over the speedway, presented a trophy, told you to stand behind the yellow line or engineered and presented a radio broadcast truly thank High Road for an event that we will remember until the next one in 2015!
We are working on getting all the winners of the Showdown lined up for this week's show. It will air this Thursday on FOXSPORTS 1380 KRKO Radio from 5:00 to 6:45 PM.
July 1, 2014
Northsound Racing is now airing from 5:00 to 6:45 Thursday's on FOXSPORTS 1380 KRKO Radio, and also on www.northsoundracing.com!
Thursday's guest list includes Jim Petit II, Ricky "The Kid" Dietz, Steve Beitler, Ron Bennett and Jeremy Anders.
Here's what we have planned for the upcoming Summer Showdown weekend out at Evergreen Speedway. We are honored to be able to broadcast both Friday and Saturday. The Northsound Racing that we would normally present on Thursday, June 26th will be moved to Friday June 27th from 5:00 to 6:45 live from Evergreen Speedway. On Saturday the 28th we will do a pre-race show on FOXSPORTS 1380 and www.northsoundracing.com from 5:00 to 6:45. After that, we will switch over to Classic Country 1520 KXA and go right to the Summer Showdown at the end of the NASCAR Sprint Cup race from the Kansas Speedway. I know this sounds confusing (and you'd be correct, by the way!), but with contractual obligations with baseball and MRN, it's the way it's got to be.
The best way to listen to the Showdown race is to bring up the KXA website and click on the "Contact Us" link. A window will pop up and then click on the Live Stream link. The race will not be on the Northsound Racing web site. Just the pre-race show.
Ron Bennett will be up in the booth and both Jeremy Anders from the Wenatchee Valley Super Oval and King 5 News anchor Dennis Bounds return to Evergreen Speedway to cover the pits. Sheree Berg will roam the grandstands getting us reports and comments throughout the race. I'm super excited to be working with these people who have such a passion for the sport, and we plan on covering this huge race from all angles.
Listen to Northsound Racing this Thursday for more details on the biggest motorsports event in many years in the Pacific Northwest.

Northsound Racing's 7th Annual Award Banquet - Nov 1st!
Northsound Racing is pleased to invite you to our 7th Annual Awards Banquet. This year's event will be held at the 13th Avenue Pub & Eatery, 1233 164th Street SW in Lynnwood, WA on Thursday, November 1st at 7:00 PM.
This event will be broadcast live from 7:00 to 9:00 PM on FOXSPORTS 1380-KRKO Radio, and live streamed on www.northsoundracing.com. All of us at Northsound Racing would be honored with your attendance. It's our way of saying "Thank You" for all your support and assistance this season, because we couldn't do what we do without the cooperation of all the motorsports facilities, along with the touring groups, race teams, sponsors, and especially our listeners and race fans from all over the Pacific Northwest.
The Northsound Racing Awards Banquet honors racers, officials, track and touring series promoters, along with special awards for those not behind the wheel, but are definitely behind the scenes. We will also announce the new inductees into the Northsound Racing Hall of Fame for 2012.
We look forward to celebrating a fantastic 2012 season with all of you!
October 27, 2012
Northsound Racing returns to its regular time slot of 8:00 to 10:00 PM this Thursday evening for an aggressive show covering all the events concerning motorsports this weekend.
And with that, a few changes are in store for the night as well. First off, the shows co-host, Tom Glithero is taking a much deserved night off, and filling in for Tom will be Doug Pace. Doug has expressed interest in the past about wanting to do the show, and said he would be willing to drive all the way over from Spokane to help with the show in the studio, so that's exactly what he's going to do! Doug will now join Scott Ellsworth, Shane Biles, Kelly Hart, Maury Eskanazi, Jeff Shade, Jason Fraser and several others that have co-hosted the show in the past seven years.
Also, we announced last week that our time slot will change now that the Everett Aquasox season has started up. In the past, we've done the show from 6:00 to 6:45 on the Thursday nights that the Aquasox are playing. It's been frustrating to do it that way, because the heart of the season is coming up, and we lose a lot of momentum with doing such a short show. This season, we are going to start the show in "prime time", and broadcasting from 5:00 to 6:45 on Thursday nights. This should be the case for the majority of the season, as there will be some minor changes depending on where the team is playing at. The cool part is that we'll be able to provide more coverage to our listeners during the best part of the local racing season.
Another announcement was made on our last show concerning the Summer Shootout at Evergreen Speedway on June 30th. Northsound Racing will be broadcasting a two hour show from the event prior to the Aquasox pre-game show at 6:45. We would like to thank High Road Promotions for allowing us to participate in this huge event. More details to follow!
Lot's of people lined up for this Thursday's show. We will be getting live updates from night #1 of the Dirt Cup at Skagit Speedway. Ricky "The Kid" Dietz will be in the studio to get us jacked up for the 60 Minutes of FEAR race this Saturday night at Evergreen Speedway. Ricky is bringing "Dangerous" Cory Turner with him. Cory is one of the Figure 8 racers making the trek from Indy to race in the 60 Minutes of FEAR. We will also preview the upcoming Stanwood-Camano Island All American Soap Box Derby, and visiting with Daniel Moore as well.
Listen live on FOXSPORTS 1380-KRKO Radio, or online at www.northsoundracing.com this Thursday night from 800 to 10:00 PM. Make sure and let is know if you need some new Northsound Racing stickers for your race car. E-mail us at email@example.com, along with your name and mailing address, and we'll get them out to you right away!
